It is been a while since my last web hosting article and i would like to apologize for my absence. It has been a wonderful year for me and for Daw Web Hosting Blog, launched in March. I belive that the blog has been helpful to many people this year. It received about 102 000 unique visitors and I’m motivated to make it bette in 2007.
This year has also been very intensive for anyone involved in the web hosting market. Many companies lost value and changed their ownership. Many trademark may disappear in 2007. Others will emerge.
2006 was a good year for the big player on the market. European web hosting companies did great job and now are less behind their American competitors. The december stats published by Netcraft show that an European web host tops the rank fro the most reliable hoster for December. Italian company Tiscali left Rackspace, NYI, and other american companies behind. The language barrier however is still a major obstacle that bars the smaller EU web hosting companies from being competitive in the global market.
The other thing that changed is the way companies do shared hosting. Overselling and marketing tricks are general currency in web hosting. I expect this market to be very overcrowded in 2007 and many companies to break-up or to change the onweship.
At the same time there are very positive expectations fro the business hosting providers of VPS, Dedicated and Managed hosting products and services. The analysis show that the market will grow at least with 30% until 2009 only in North America.
Tha means web hosting market is shooting up! Those are good news so I’ll stop here. merry Christmas to everyone. Wish you all the best in 2007.

Well, SitePal definitely offers a solution that brings more fun to communication with your customers. No matter if you are web hosting business or if you run any other e-commerce web site.
I’m not very familiar with the details about SitePal’s characters but they offer many options that can be used. You can base your tutorials and FAQ on their characters. And I believe you can create an animated support operator who can answer to your customers questions. Of course you need to predefine the question and answer in an audio file. One of the web hosts that use them is Apollo Hosting.
I know it is not a big deal to have an animated face which starts talking something when users click on the “Play” button. It is ointeresting however to have this animated pal to answer real questions someone types on your web site or to use it as a chat person!
