I understand the “Sandbox effect“, even I don’t like the fact it exists. Google is a privately owned corporation which can decide on its own what kind of policies to implement. I wouldn’t blame them for using a “Sandbox” because they need to deal with millions of websites and anyone of their owners expects to get ranked higher on any search terms. Google does not exist to bring “Justice for all”. It is just a commercial enterprise. My advice is simple – “Don’t care about Search engines. Care about people who come to your websites”!
This is something I posted in response to a thread in Digital point forums titled “Google Sandbox – Fact or Fiction?”.
“We have all probably heard about the so called Google Sandbox at some point when surfing webmaster forums, but is it fact or fiction?”, says the forum member and add that “There has never been any official acknowledgement that the Sandbox actually exists”. He has written that he has no doubt that there is some kind of delaying factor for listing new websites in search results.
Google – Word’s Internet Government or private company?
When people talk about Google, many of them think of the Search engine they way they see their governments. But Google does not have a sovereignty (an exclusive right to have complete control over an area) over Internet. It is just a private company, a technology advanced and a good one. So why do millions of people rely on Google to find resolution on their own problems?
“My site doesn’t appear in search engine results”. “Who’s guilty? Of course Google”; “I don’t receive traffic on my website”. “Its Google’s fault!”; “My website is not ranked on first page on search term “web hosting”! “Damn Google”. There are millions of individual perspectives and Google can not be expected to meet.
Don’t like Google? Use another Search engine!
Most site owners who swear on Google continue to use its services. Why? If you don’t like the way this engine works just go with Yahoo, Live.com, Ask, DogPile (Ranked 1st in Google on “search engines” search phrase), Alexa, etc.
The only reason most people who say they don’t like Google to stay with Google is that this SE provides more relevant results from others. Well there is another very powerful reason – Google has become traditional SE. People use it by habit. I’m sure some other engines work better on any areas. But the thing that makes Google the most acceptable one is that it offers various useful tools which help people in their every day work.
Don’t trust me? Just go in Google search bar and type “147.65 dollar in euro”. You’ll get an answer. So, you’ve just saved 5 minutes of your time with Google.
